I'm Ryan Wagner, the founder of SpinePass.
I opened SpinePass in Toowong in June 2026, after studying in Brisbane and spending four years practising overseas.
My journey with chiropractic
I grew up seeing chiropractors. As an active child I consistently found the care effective, and that experience is what led me to study it — I wanted to be able to provide the same results for others.
I moved to Brisbane to study, completing a Bachelor of Science (Chiropractic) followed by a Master of Clinical Chiropractic.
After graduating I moved to Heidelberg and practised in Germany for two years. I then relocated to the Turks and Caicos Islands, where I practised for a further two years before returning home to Brisbane.
Working in Germany meant treating patients in a second language, where I had to be exact about what I was saying and ensure my communication was understood across the language barrier. The Caribbean meant working with limited resources, and with a patient population who often had no prior reference point for chiropractic. Both taught me the same lesson from opposite directions: the explanation matters as much as the adjustment. If a patient does not understand what is happening in their body and why, they will not continue with their care — and care that is not completed does not help them.
That principle is the foundation of how SpinePass operates.
How I practise
Every patient begins with a full assessment. I take a detailed history, assess how you move, and complete orthopaedic and neurological screening before any care is provided.
I then explain what I have found in clear, plain language: what I believe is driving the problem, the timeframe I would expect, and what you can do between visits to support your progress.
Care is guided over a series of visits, with formal review points built in so that you always understand where you are in your plan. If I do not believe chiropractic is the appropriate course for your presentation, I will tell you and refer you to a practitioner who can help.
Who I usually see
The majority of my patients work at a desk — lawyers, accountants, academics and University of Queensland staff, primarily from Toowong and the surrounding suburbs. Desk-related back and neck complaints make up the bulk of my caseload.
I also see patients whose demands on their bodies run in the opposite direction: runners, weight training, and weekend sport.
Based in Toowong, I see patients from across Brisbane's inner west, including Auchenflower, Milton, Taringa and St Lucia.
Why a membership clinic
Chiropractic care is generally guided over a series of visits, and in a pay-per-visit model the cost accumulates quickly. I consistently saw the same pattern: patients progressing well, then discontinuing early because of the running cost rather than because their care was complete.
SpinePass is my response to that. A single flat monthly fee covers your clinically guided visits, so that continuing care is not a fresh financial decision each time. Here's how the membership works →
Outside the clinic
Outside of practice I play hockey in Brisbane. Remaining active is important to me personally, and it informs why I care about helping others move comfortably.
